My lighting in the workshop consists of fluorescent lights that were installed
in the workshop when I bought my house supplemented with
scavenged light fittings that were being thrown out from my work, or rubbish
thrown out by people. I should mention that I am a Radio
Engineer by trade and possess the necessary smarts not to electrocute myself.
In saying that, as long as you use your common sense it is
not beyond the average handyman to string a light fitting together. I
don't try and wire it into my workshops mains supply, rather, wire it
to an extension lead where I then switch it on and off at an approved
switchboard.
